History
Upper Volta issued two commemorative stamps at Ouagadougou on 15 June 1966 in honor of the Boy Scouts. G. Bétemps designed both values; So. Ge. Im. printed them, comb perforated 12½ × 13. The issue was withdrawn from sale on 30 November 1966.
The 10 f shows Scouts at a camp-fire: one standing with hands on hips and another seated beside a cooking pot hung from a tripod, with a tent and further figures among acacia trees in the background. The 15 f shows two Scouts on a rocky ledge overlooking a valley — one pointing across the landscape, the other watching — under a low sun. Both stamps are inscribed République de Haute-Volta and carry the designer and printer marks in the lower margin.
Both values also exist imperforate. Deluxe proofs of the set are recorded but are not treated here as catalogue pieces.
