History
Syria issued a 15 piastre commemorative at Damascus on 2 September 1970 for the ninth Pan-Arab Boy Scout Jamboree. Mahmoud Mammed designed a Scout in uniform holding a staff beside a tent, with a fleur-de-lis over a map at the upper left. The State Printing Office printed 100,000 copies by offset lithography in panes of fifty, comb perforated 12½ × 12, measuring 42 × 30 mm. The stamp is inscribed SYRIAN ARAB REPUBLIC and 9th BOYSCOUTS PAN-ARAB JAMBOREE DAMASCUS 1970.
