History
Côte d'Ivoire issued a 40 f commemorative at Abidjan on 16 July 1973 for the 24th World Scout Conference in Nairobi. P. Lambert designed the stamp; it is signed P LAMBERT. It was printed by photogravure, comb perforated 13 × 12½, about 40 × 30 mm, in panes of 25. Sources name no printer.
The left panel shows two Scouts in white shirts, blue shorts and red neckerchiefs tilling a green field with a man in a white robe, lettered 40 F and POSTES. At right a red map of Africa carries the white World Scout emblem. The stamp is inscribed REPUBLIQUE DE COTE D'IVOIRE, 16-21 JUILLET 1973, and 24e CONFERENCE MONDIALE DU SCOUTISME - NAIROBI - KENYA.
An imperforate variety of the stamp exists.
