History

The United Republic of Cameroon issued three airmail stamps at Yaoundé on 31 July 1973 for Cameroon's admission as a member of the World Scout Conference on 26 March 1971. Odette Baillais designed the set; EDILA (Éditions de l'Aubetin, Geneva) printed it by offset lithography, comb perforated 13, about 31 × 52 mm. Each stamp is inscribed RÉPUBLIQUE UNIE DU CAMEROUN / AFFILIATION DU CAMEROUN A LA CONFÉRENCE MONDIALE DU SCOUTISME. 26 MARS 1971, and in English MARCH 26 TH 1971. ADMISSION OF CAMEROON AS A MEMBER OF THE WORLD SCOUT CONFERENCE. The stamps are lettered POSTE AÉRIENNE and signed BAILLAIS and EDILA.

The shared design shows the World Scout emblem in a rope circle with a three-finger salute at the top, ten national flags at the sides, and the two-star flag of the United Republic of Cameroon below. The 40 f has a light-blue ground, the 45 f a tan ground, and the 100 f a pink ground.

Imperforate singles of the three values exist.
