History

Pakistan issued a 20 paisa commemorative at Lahore and Karachi on 20 November 1976 for the Quaid-i-Azam Centenary Jamboree. The stamp is inscribed QUAID-I-AZAM CENTENARY JAMBOREE, 20P POSTAGE, PAKISTAN and Urdu, with NOV. 1976 at the right. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan (1876–1948), appears in sherwani and Jinnah cap giving the three-finger Scout salute against a green field. At upper left a green Scout fleur-de-lis in a rope circle is lettered UNITY, FAITH and DISCIPLINE.

Ilyas Ahmed Gilani designed the stamp. The Pakistan Security Printing Corporation printed it in offset lithography, comb perforated 13½ × 13¾, 28.5 × 38.34 mm. One million copies were printed. The stamp was withdrawn from sale on 20 February 1977.
