Series history
The 4th World Scout Jamboree was held at Gödöllő, near Budapest, from 2 to 13 August 1933. Beside the official postage set, Hungarian Scouts and associated groups issued non-postal labels for the gathering.
This perforated vignette has no face value and no franking power. It is printed in terracotta on cream paper: a Scout fleur-de-lis with the Crown of Saint Stephen in the central petal, set in symmetrical scrollwork. The year is split across the top as 19 and 33 in black. A five-digit serial is overprinted at the foot; this example reads 48997. No printer’s imprint is present, and the printer is not established.
Hungarian Scout badges of the period place the Holy Crown on the lily, and the label follows that device rather than the leaping white stag used on the postage stamps. No precise issue day is recorded.
