Series history
Ceylon marked fifty years of Scouting with a 35-cent stamp issued in Colombo on 26 February 1962 for the Golden Jubilee and a national jamboree. The blue and gold design centres on a circular Scout fleur-de-lis charged with the Ceylon lion holding a sword, flanked by the dates 1912 and 1962. The country name appears in Sinhala, Tamil and English; the jubilee wording runs across a gold band at the foot.
Designer W. A. Ariyasena; Helio Courvoisier; photogravure in panes of 100; perforated 11½.
