Scout campsite with winged fleur-de-lis, two Scouts at a fire, tents, flagpole and jet; inscribed 7th PAN ARAB JAMBOREE - LIBYA
Series history
Egypt issued a single 20 millième airmail stamp at Cairo on 10 August 1966 for the 7th Pan-Arab Scout Jamboree in Libya. The stamp is inscribed UAR and AIR MAIL, with the caption 7th PAN ARAB JAMBOREE - LIBYA along the lower margin. The olive-green design shows a Scout campsite: a winged Scout fleur-de-lis at left, two Scouts by a cooking fire, tents, a flagpole, and a jet airliner above.
668,700 copies were printed, in panes of 50. Postal Authority Printing House; photogravure; perforated 11½ × 11; watermark of multiple large eagles. Sources do not name the designer. The jamboree venue in Libya is given as Good Daim in some accounts and as Tripoli in others; the stamp itself names only Libya.
