Notes
Stylised bugle with Scout fleur-de-lis (Ashoka Chakra) and three-finger Scout salute; Diamond Jubilee Scout Movement 1967.
Series history
India issued a 15 paise commemorative on 27 December 1967 at Bombay and other cities for the diamond jubilee of the Scout Movement — the sixtieth anniversary of world Scouting — and for the 5th All-Indian Jamboree.
The horizontal brown design shows, at left, a stylised bugle coiled around a Scout fleur-de-lis charged with the Ashoka Chakra, under the English legend DIAMOND JUBILEE SCOUT MOVEMENT and the year 1967; Hindi titles for the jubilee and the Scout Movement run along the right. At right a raised right hand gives the three-finger Scout salute. The face value 15p. sits at lower left above भारत / INDIA.
The India Security Press designed and printed the stamp by photogravure, 40 × 23 mm, perforated 14½ × 14, in panes of fifty. Two million copies were produced.
