White tents on a green meadow, grey peaks, and a large red-and-white trefoil; trilingual Guide legends

Series history

Switzerland released its annual publicity series at Bern on 13 February 1969. One of the five values — the 10 centimes — marks the fiftieth anniversary of Swiss Girl Scouting (1919–1969). Erhard Meier designed a campsite of white tents on a green meadow beneath grey peaks and a blue sky; a large trefoil in the Swiss colours occupies the right, and the trilingual legends Pfadfinderinnen · Éclaireuses · Esploratrici run along the foot. Helio Courvoisier printed the stamp by photogravure on phosphorescent paper in panes of 50; 19,981,000 were issued. Perforation is given as about 11½–11¾.
