Series history

Upper Volta issued a 45 franc airmail commemorative at Ouagadougou on 12 August 1971 for the 13th World Scout Jamboree in Japan. Jacques Combet designed a Scout walking a hillside before Japanese temple roofs and a pagoda; the stamp is inscribed POSTE AERIENNE, 13e Jamboree mondial and Tokyo 1971. Delrieu printed it by photogravure, comb perforated 12½. It was withdrawn from sale on 31 August 1973.
