Notes

Yellow field in two panels. Left: young men in green shirts, dark trousers and berets standing in a receding line. Right: two in blue overalls laying a red-brick wall, watched by a man in a suit; lettered Service. Inscribed LESOTHO, YOUTH & DEVELOPMENT and 30c.

Series history

Lesotho issued a 30 cents commemorative on 18 February 1974, inscribed YOUTH & DEVELOPMENT and Service. It is one value of a five-stamp Youth and Development issue. H. Granger-Barrett designed the stamp; House of Questa printed it by lithography in panes of 50. Seventy thousand copies were printed.

The yellow design is in two panels. At left, young men in green shirts, dark trousers and berets stand in a receding line. At right, two in blue overalls lay a brick wall, watched by a man in a suit. The stamp does not name Scouting, and the uniforms are not identified on the stamp.
