History
Pakistan marked the second national jamboree of its Boy Scouts on 28 December 1958 by overprinting two definitives in black, rather than issuing new designs. The camp ran at Chittagong, in what was then East Pakistan, from 28 December into the first days of January, and the overprint spells that out: PAKISTAN BOY SCOUT, 2nd NATIONAL JAMBOREE, CHITTAGONG, Dec. 58 — Jan. 59. Domfil catalogues the pair as 958.7/8.
The 6 pice and the 8 annas, both violet, were engraved from designs by Delrieu; Pakistan Security Printers applied the overprints, in panes of 80, perforation 13. SOSOW records 384,000 of the 6 pice and 300,000 of the 8 annas, and gives 30 April 1959 as the withdrawal date — four months on sale.
An imperforate pair of the 8 annas is known from the foot of the sheet, with the printer's imprint still in the margin.
