Series history
Togo issued six photogravure stamps at Lomé on 7 October 1961 honouring Togolese Boy Scouts and the twentieth anniversary of the deaths of Baden-Powell (1857–1941) and Daniel C. Beard (1850–1941). Michael Goaman designed the set for De La Rue. The 0.50 f shows Beard; the 1 f Baden-Powell; the 10 f a Scout beside troop shields; the 25 f a Togolese Scout with the national flag; the 30 f a camp-site of three tents around a fire; and the 100 f three hands giving the Scout salute. Singles are comb-perforated about 13–13¼; imperforate singles exist.
Two souvenir sheets gather the six designs on a yellow ground: one with simulated perforations and one imperforate. Brown-ground sheets of the same layout are a colour variety outside the main listing and are shown among related images, together with a proof on card.
