Series history
The Central African Republic issued two recess commemoratives at Bangui on 27 September 1965 honouring Scouting. Claude Haley designed and engraved both values; the French Stamp Printing Office printed them. The stamps measure 41 × 27 mm and are perforated comb 13. The issue was withdrawn from sale on 10 March 1967.
The 25 F shows a campfire of three logs with red flames against a magenta hatched ground, a blue vertical panel with Scout emblems — tents, a fleur-de-lis and a badge — and a rope-like border at right. The 50 F shows a Scout in profile wearing a broad-brimmed hat and neckerchief, with tent symbols at left and triangular panels bearing an elephant, a crocodile and an antelope at right.
