Notes
Souvenir sheet with the 150 f hunting-scene stamp at left and, at right, a globe of the Americas, two tents and a fleur-de-lis flag inscribed WORLD JAMBOREE 1967, IDAHO U.S.A.
Series history
The Kathiri State of Seiyun, in South Arabia, issued a 150 fils airmail stamp in August 1967 for the 12th World Scout Jamboree held in Idaho, U.S.A. The stamp was printed by photogravure and released both comb perforated 12½ and imperforate. A matching souvenir sheet of 104 × 80 mm carries the same stamp beside a globe of the Americas, two tents and a Scout fleur-de-lis flag, and was also issued perforated and imperforate. Designer and printer are not established. The postal status of the issue is disputed.
The design shows a man in a khaki shirt and red neckerchief, wearing a white headcloth, aiming a rifle at a leaping gazelle, with a small portrait of the ruler at upper right. Beyond the jamboree inscriptions and the inset World Jamboree emblem (fleur-de-lis over mountains, Idaho, U.S.A.), the central motif is a hunting scene rather than a Scout activity.
