Series history

Haiti released at Port-au-Prince on 11 December 1967 two stamps bearing a Scout emblem as part of a six-value National Education series. Both designs show a white fleur-de-lis with a palm at the centre and the motto ÊTRE PRÊT on a banner, a reef knot at left, and three Scouts below, under the legend L'ÉDUCATION PAR LE SCOUTISME. The 0,10 gourde is ordinary postage (POSTES); the 1,00 gourde is airmail (POSTE AERIENNE). The stamps were printed by Giesecke in Germany in offset lithography, perforated Comb 11½, and issued in panes of 50; the ordinary postage value measures 29.5 × 38.5 mm.
