Series history
Upper Volta issued three commemorative stamps at Ouagadougou on 8 June 1967 for the 12th World Scout Jamboree, held in Idaho, United States. Henri Blais designed the set; So. Ge. Im. of Clamart printed it by photogravure, comb perforated about 12¾ × 13, in panes of 25. The issue was withdrawn from sale on 31 March 1968.
The 5 f shows a Scout's head in profile beside a hand raising a campaign hat, with the World Jamboree 1967 Idaho emblem between them against concentric yellow and light-blue waves. The 20 f shows an African Scout and a European Scout joining hands before a red field and the same jamboree emblem. The 100 f airmail places a stylized world map with striped continents under concentric yellow and turquoise rings, marking Haute Volta on Africa and carrying the jamboree emblem over North America; it is inscribed POSTE AERIENNE. All three values carry the designer and printer marks in the lower margin.
All three values also exist imperforate. Deluxe proofs are recorded but are not treated here as catalogue pieces.
