Notes

Vertical design: the 1967 World Jamboree emblem (white fleur-de-lis over mountains and pines) against a camp landscape with tents among trees and a large white disc; a Scout campaign hat and neckerchief in the foreground. Designed by Cécile Guillame.

Series history

Mauritania issued two commemorative stamps at Nouakchott on 5 June 1967 for the 12th World Scout Jamboree held in Idaho, United States. Cécile Guillame designed the set. The French Stamp Printing Office in Paris printed it in recess, comb perforated 13, in panes of 25. The issue was withdrawn from sale on 30 September 1968.

The 60 f (vertical) shows the 1967 World Jamboree emblem — a white fleur-de-lis over mountains and pines — against a camp landscape with tents among trees, a large white disc behind the badge, and a Scout campaign hat with neckerchief in the foreground. The 90 f (horizontal) places the same jamboree emblem between red silhouettes of Scouts with packs, one alone at left and a group of three at right, against a blue sky and white disc.

An imperforate set is also recorded.
