Series history

Iran issued two commemoratives at Tehran on 24 June 1968 for the Great Camp of the Iranian Girl Guides, a national jamboree of the girls' movement. Both values show the same portrait of Empress Farah Pahlavi in Girl Guide uniform with neckerchief and woggle, a Girl Guide emblem at upper left, bilingual IRAN and face value at the foot, and vertical English and Persian text naming the Great Camp of Iranian Girl Guides, 1968. The 4 rial is bright violet and dark green-grey; the 6 rial is dark brown and red lilac. The Parliament Printing Office printed the set by lithography on paper watermarked with a Persian inscription and the coat of arms in a circle, perforated 10½. Each value was printed in 400,000 copies.
