Series history
Guyana issued five commemoratives at Georgetown on 13 August 1969 for the 3rd Caribbean Scout Jamboree and the sixtieth anniversary of Scouting in the country. Jennifer Toombs designed two subjects, each in a rope or lashed-pole frame, inscribed 3rd Caribbean Scouts Jamboree 1969, GUYANA and SOUTH AMERICA. The 6, 25 and 50 cent show three Scouts at a flagpole, two saluting while the centre Scout raises the Golden Arrowhead. The 8 and 30 cent show a Scout in beret kneeling to tend a pot over a campfire. Bradbury Wilkinson lithographed the set in panes of 50, comb perforated 13½, 42 × 28 mm, on paper watermarked with a multiple lotus blossom. Printings were 474,390 of the 6 cent, 78,339 of the 8 cent, 279,408 of the 25 cent, 116,808 of the 30 cent and 65,734 of the 50 cent. Remainders of the 25 cent were later overprinted POSTAGE in blue.
