Rover badge: fleur-de-lis with Kaaba, stars, wreath and clasped hands; Saudi flag and pioneering poles; 3rd ROVER MOOT 1969 MECCA
Series history
Saudi Arabia issued three commemoratives at Jeddah on 19 February 1969 for the 3rd Arab League Rover Moot in Mecca. The Government Security Press printed the set by offset lithography, comb perforated 13½ × 14, on paper watermarked with crossed swords and a palm tree. Each value shows the same design: a circular Rover badge with a fleur-de-lis enclosing the Kaaba, two red stars, a green wreath and clasped hands, beside the Saudi flag over a pioneering frame of crossed poles. The stamps are inscribed SAUDI ARABIA 3rd ROVER MOOT 1969 MECCA and 2–17 Dhu al-Hijjah 1388. The 1 p is orange, the 4 p purple-grey and the 10 p reddish brown.
