Series history

Bolivia issued four offset-lithographed stamps at La Paz on 17 June 1970 as a homage to the Bolivian Boy Scout. Gil Imana designed the set; La Papelera S.A. printed it. The stamps measure 28 × 35 mm and are comb perforated 13½, without watermark. The 0.05 peso (500,000) shows a Scout hiking before Illimani; the 0.10 peso (200,000) a Girl Scout planting a flowering shrub; the 0.50 peso airmail (100,000) a Scout laying bricks; the 1.20 peso airmail (100,000) the association badge, a fleur-de-lis bearing the national flower in the colours of the flag. The stamps are inscribed HOMENAJE AL BOY SCOUT BOLIVIANO.
