Series history
Montserrat issued four commemoratives at Plymouth on 31 December 1970 for the diamond jubilee of the Girl Guide Movement, 1910–1970. Victor Whiteley designed the set; Questa printed it by offset lithography, comb perforated 14, in panes of fifty, on paper watermarked Multiple St Edward's Crown CA. The 10 cents and 40 cents show a Girl Guide in blue uniform and orange neckerchief; the 15 cents and 25 cents a Brownie in brown uniform and yellow neckerchief. Each stamp carries the crown and royal cypher E II R, a hexagonal 1910 DIAMOND JUBILEE 1970 trefoil, side borders of repeating trefoils, and MONTSERRAT at the foot. The stamps remained valid for postage until 30 March 1971.
