Series history
Bhutan issued six diamond-shaped commemoratives and a souvenir sheet at Tas Chho-Dz'ong on 30 November 1971. The stamps are inscribed 60th ANNIVERSARY — 1972. Three designs, each used on two values, show a Scout in a blue gho crossing a stream in a rope sling (10 and 75 chertum), two Scouts mountaineering (20 chertum and 2 ngultrum), and two Scouts reading a map (50 chertum and 6 ngultrum). Heraclio Fournier designed and printed the issue in lithography, in panes of forty, comb perforated 13½. Quantities were 100,000 each of the 10, 20 and 50 chertum, 50,000 of the 75 chertum, 30,000 of the 2 ngultrum, 20,000 of the 6 ngultrum, and 7,500 souvenir sheets. The diamond sheet pairs the 2 and 6 ngultrum with side labels of a fleur-de-lis, comb perforated 13.
Imperforate singles of the six values exist.
