Series history
Labels inscribed STATE OF OMAN and JAMBOREE 1971 appeared in 1971 in five values and a souvenir sheet. Each piece names Samir Ghantous and Fabrica de Timbre, Bucharest. The 4, 6 and 8 baisa are inscribed POSTAGE and show a Scout bugler before tents and a snow-capped mountain, two Scouts cooking over a stone hearth, and two figures in costume at a campfire. The 10 and 12 baisa and the 40 baisa sheet are inscribed AIR MAIL: a Scout signalling with flags, a portrait of Robert Baden-Powell, and on the sheet a Scout with a flag before Mount Fuji and pagodas, tents in the margin. They are not an issue of a postal administration.
