Series history
Sharjah issued gold and silver embossed-foil airmail stamps and souvenir sheets on 28 June 1971 for the 13th World Scout Jamboree. Each stamp is inscribed 3 riyals and shows a portrait of Robert Baden-Powell in a Scout hat beneath a fleur-de-lis, with AIR MAIL and Sharjah & DEPENDENCIES. The stamps are die-cut about 10½; imperforate printings of both the gold and silver stamps are also known. Souvenir sheets place the same gold or silver stamp, with simulated perforations, on a green ground beside a large white fleur-de-lis. Postal standing is unsettled.
