Series history
Sharjah issued sheetlets of six on 6 July 1971 showing uniformed Scouts of American and Asian associations for the 13th World Scout Jamboree. Ordinary postage (grey panel lettered POSTAGE) covers Hong Kong, Thailand, Canada, Japan and the United States at 2 to 6 dirhams; matching airmails run 35 dirhams to 3 riyals. The same designs exist perforated 14 and imperforate. Two souvenir sheets with simulated perforations show the Scout salute among national flags, with vignettes of the five Scouts; one is lettered POSTAGE and the other AIR MAIL. Brüder Rosenbaum of Vienna printed the issue in lithography. Postal standing is unsettled.
