Notes
Presentation of a Scout Troop flag in front of the Tristan school; the Scout-design value of a four-stamp expedition set.
Series history
Tristan da Cunha issued a four-value set on 1 June 1971 for the fiftieth anniversary of the Shackleton-Rowett South Atlantic Expedition. Only the 4 pence shows a Scout design: the presentation of a Scout Troop flag in front of the Tristan school. Victor Whitely designed the stamp; John Waddington printed it in lithography, comb perforated 14, in panes of twenty-five, on paper watermarked St. Edward's Crown and CA multiple. It was withdrawn from sale on 31 August 1971.
