Series history
On 2 December 1972 Grenada issued eight stamps and a souvenir sheet for the 65th anniversary of Boy Scouts. Richard Granger Barrett designed four subjects, each with a profile of Queen Elizabeth II: a Scout in a beret giving the three-finger salute; two Scouts knotting ropes beside a fleur-de-lis lettered BOY SCOUTS; six Scouts of different nations, two shaking hands; and a portrait of Baden-Powell in campaign hat and uniform. The ½ cent and 25 cents carry the salute; the 1 cent and 35 cents the knotting; the 2 cents and 75 cents the group of nations; the 3 cents and 1 dollar Baden-Powell. The 25 and 35 cents are inscribed AIR MAIL. The souvenir sheet holds a 60-cent Baden-Powell stamp above a 70-cent group of nations, with fleur-de-lis, 65th ANNIVERSARY, and line drawings of saluting Scouts in the margin. House of Questa printed the issue in lithography, comb perforated 14.
