Series history
The Maldives issued four stamps at Malé on 1 August 1972 for the 13th World Scout Jamboree in Japan. Each is inscribed BOY SCOUT JAMBOREE 1971 and REPUBLIC of MALDIVES. Maxim Shamir designed the set; the Israel Government Printers printed it by lithography in panes of 50, comb perforation 14. The stamps were also issued imperforate.
The 10 laari shows a Scout saluting, on teal. The 15 laari shows a Scout with yellow-and-blue semaphore flags, on maroon. The 50 laari shows a Scout sounding a bugle, on green. The 1 rufiyaa shows a Scout at a side drum, on purple. A Scout fleur-de-lis at upper right contains the Maldivian emblem.
