Series history

Umm al-Quwain issued six imperforate three-dimensional stamps in May 1972 for the 13th World Scout Jamboree held at Asagiri Heights, Japan, in August 1971. Each stamp is inscribed UMM AL QIWAIN in English and Arabic, 世界ジャンボリー, XIII WORLD JAMBOREE AUGUST 1971, and a fleur-de-lis in a white circle. The stamps were produced as separate pieces.

The 5 dirhams shows Robert Baden-Powell in a campaign hat before Mount Fuji and a Japanese flag. The 10 dirhams shows five Scouts walking toward the viewer on a grassy slope before the mountain. The 20 dirhams shows two Scouts hiking with packs, a craft in the sky. The 40 dirhams shows a Scout sounding a bugle before tents, Mount Fuji and a Japanese flag. The 50 dirhams shows a night camp with a pot over a fire, Mount Fuji, and a streak in the sky. The 6 riyals airmail shows two Scouts, one shading his eyes and one giving the salute, before Mount Fuji and a red flag with a white crescent and star.

A 6 riyal airmail souvenir sheet shows two Scouts with binoculars before Mount Fuji; the margin has a Japanese guardian figure, a pagoda, and a bugler among tents. Designer and printer are not established. Postal standing is unsettled.
