Series history

Fiji issued three commemorative stamps at Lautoka on 30 August 1974, inscribed FIRST FIJI NATIONAL JAMBOREE 1974, fiji and the royal cypher E II R, with a purple Scout fleur-de-lis. E. W. Roberts designed the set; House of Questa printed it by offset lithography, comb perforated 14, watermarked St. Edward's Crown over CA in a multiple block, in panes of 50. The 3 cents and 10 cents measure 43 × 29 mm; the 40 cents 29 × 43 mm. The issue was withdrawn from sale on 28 February 1975.

The 3 cents shows three Cubs preparing a camp-fire, one in a sulu, lettered CUBBING IN FIJI 1924-1974. The 10 cents shows two Scouts kneeling over a map, lettered SCOUTING IN FIJI 1914-1974. The 40 cents shows three Scouts standing before the Fiji flag.
