Series history

Guinea issued six photogravure commemoratives and a souvenir sheet on 22 November 1974 for the Mouvement national des pionniers. The stamps measure 31 × 43 mm and are comb perforated 14; an imperforate printing of the six designs was issued alongside, and the sheet exists perforated and imperforate. Each stamp is lettered REPUBLIQUE DE GUINEE. Sources give no designer, printer, place of issue or quantities.

The 0.50 syli shows a Pioneer hauling a rope while another crosses a rope bridge; the 2 syli a Pioneer with staff and a figure using a telescope; the 4 syli two Pioneers at a field radio; the 5 syli cooking over a fire; the 7.50 syli a Pioneer in beret giving a two-finger salute against a map of Guinea; the 10 syli two boys playing basketball. The souvenir sheet, headed MOUVEMENT NATIONAL DES PIONNIERS, carries the 7.50 and 10 syli together (17.50 syli).
