Series history
Nicaragua issued ten commemoratives and two airmail souvenir sheets at Managua on 15 August 1975 for the 14th World Scout Jamboree, Nordjamb 75, in Norway. They are inscribed NICARAGUA and signed or credited to Vasarhelyi. Format International Security Printers Ltd. printed them by offset lithography. The stamps carry a World Scout emblem and the Nordjamb 75 mountain mark. The six lower values are inscribed CORREO; from 35 centavos they are inscribed AEREO. They were issued in panes of 50, comb perforated 15. Quantities were 3,100,000 (1 and 2 c), 1,600,000 (3 c), 600,000 (4 c), 500,000 (5 c), 300,000 (20 c) and 100,000 each of the four airmail values.
The designs show Scouts saluting the national flag; two Scouts in canoe 26; four Scouts shaking hands; cooking at two pots; a Scout at the stone arch of Campo Escuela Scout Nacional El Coyotepe; a circle of Scouts in discussion; an aerial camp landscape; three Scout musicians; a night camp-fire; and a portrait of Baden-Powell in a wreath.
A perforated souvenir sheet, 126 × 101 mm, comb 13½, holds a 2 córdoba cooking stamp and a 3 córdoba canoe stamp (25,000). An imperforate sheet of the same size holds a 2 córdoba El Coyotepe stamp and a 3 córdoba camp-fire (25,000).
