Series history

Ghana issued four commemoratives and a souvenir sheet on 5 January 1976 for the 14th World Scout Jamboree, held at Lillehammer from 29 July to 7 August 1975. The stamps themselves are dated 1975. Format International Security Printers printed the issue by offset lithography. The pane stamps measure 49 × 33 mm and are comb perforated 13¾, in panes of 50. Sources give no designer.

Each design shows a Scout in khaki, yellow neckerchief and campaign hat, holding a staff, with a gold fleur-de-lis at left, GHANA on a banner, and 14th. WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE-NORWAY. The 7 pesewa is titled Map reading and shows Scouts gathered over a map. The 30 pesewa is titled Sailing. The 60 pesewa is titled The Hike. The 1 cedi is titled Life-saving. The same four designs were also issued imperforate.

The souvenir sheet, 133 × 100 mm, places the four designs at 15, 40, 65 and 80 pesewas in a 2 × 2 block on a yellow-gold margin headed 14th. WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE NORWAY and footed GHANA between two fleur-de-lis. The same sheet exists without perforation.
