Series history

Saint Lucia issued seven commemoratives and a souvenir sheet at Castries on 17 October 1977 for the 6th Caribbean Scout Jamboree in Jamaica. Each stamp is upright, 29 × 42 mm, inscribed CARIBBEAN BOY SCOUT JAMBOREE / JAMAICA 1977, with St. LUCIA on a coloured bar at the foot.

John Waddington Studios designed the set. Format International Security Printers printed it by offset lithography, comb perforated 15, in panes of 50, without a watermark.

The half-cent shows Scouts on a white climbing frame and a black dog on the grass. The 1 cent has two Sea Scouts saluting before a sailboat. The 2 cents is a half-length Scout in a dark beret, saluting. The 10 cents shows two Scouts in peaked green caps. The 20 cents is a single Sea Scout saluting beside a sailboat. The 50 cents is a Scout in a beret saluting, with an A-frame tent behind. The 1 dollar shows two Sea Scouts in a motorboat.

The souvenir sheet, 75 × 85 mm, places a $2.50 motorboat stamp on a pale yellow field, flanked by six green Scout fleurs-de-lis.
