History

On 28 February 1977 Indonesia issued three commemoratives inscribed JAMBORE NASIONAL KE-II — the second national Scout jamboree of Gerakan Pramuka. The camp itself ran in July at Sibolangit, on the slopes of Mount Sibayak in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, and was opened by President Suharto on 3 July.

S. Djenny designed the set from material supplied by the national Scout and Guide council. The Government Security Printing and Minting works printed the stamps by photogravure, perforated 12½, 33 × 24 mm, in panes of 100. Each value is recorded at 1,000,000.

All three stamps carry the World Scout fleur-de-lis and the Guide trefoil. The 25 rupiah shows Minangkabau-style roofs and the yellow coconut-sprout emblem of Gerakan Pramuka with 77. The 30 rupiah repeats the curved roofs against a red and yellow ground, with stylised trees. The 40 rupiah shows the Indonesian flag and the Pramuka flag above a traditional boat prow.
