Triangular stamp with winged Scout fleur-de-lis in a red circle
Series history
Egypt issued two triangular 10 millième stamps on 28 August 1964 for the 6th Pan-Arab Scout Jamboree in Alexandria. The stamps are inscribed UAR and 6TH PAN ARAB JAMBOREE - ALEX., with the Gregorian year 1964 beside the Hegira year ١٣٨٤. One design is green, with a winged Scout fleur-de-lis in a red circle; the other is red, with a Scout fleur-de-lis in a green circle and the United Arab Republic colours on the emblem bar.
Each value was printed in 862,680 copies. The stamps appeared in panes of 70, with the two triangular designs printed in alternate positions — thirty-five of each. Designer Sadek Rafael; Postal Authority Printing House; photogravure; perforated 11½.
