Series history
The Philippines released three commemorative stamps at Manila on 26 May 1966 for the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, founded by Josefa Llanes Escoda on 26 May 1940. Each value carries the same design: a Girl Scout in green uniform and brimmed hat giving the three-finger salute, with the Tagalog legend «25 Taong Paglilingkod sa mga Kabataang Babae ng Pilipinas» («25 years of service to the young women of the Philippines»), the GSP trefoil emblem on a Girl Scouts ribbon, and the country name PILIPINAS with KOREO below.
The 3 sentimo is lettered in blue, the 6 sentimo in green, and the 20 sentimo in brown. De La Rue printed the set on enamel-coated paper by lithography and photogravure, comb perforated 13 × 12½, in panes of 50. Printings were five million of the 3 sentimo, ten million of the 6 sentimo, and five million of the 20 sentimo.
