Series history
Bhutan issued a surcharge set on 8 August 1967 for the 12th World Scout Jamboree held at Farragut State Park, Idaho, from 1 to 9 August 1967. A black commemorative overprint reading WORLD JAMBOREE / IDAHO, U.S.A. / AUG. 1-9/67 was applied to the diamond-shaped Scout designs released earlier that year.
The six perforated values are the 5 ch and 50 ch (two Scouts planting a sapling beside a yellow tent), the 10 ch and 1.25 Nu (two Scouts cooking over a stone hearth against Himalayan peaks), and the 15 ch and 4 Nu (a Scout climbing a snow slope with rope, ice axe and backpack). The stamps are photogravure and line perforated about 13½. Imperforate singles of all six values also exist.
A diamond souvenir sheet of 5.25 Nu combines the 1.25 Nu cooking and 4 Nu climbing designs with flanking fleur-de-lis panels lettered Bhutan in English and Dzongkha; it exists perforated and imperforate. Printed quantities for the perforated stamps are given as 10,000 of each value and 5,000 sheets. The postal status of the issue is disputed.
