Atlantic puffin on a green mound in a panel lettered QUETZAL; one Scout holding a red-and-white signalling flag, another kneeling with binoculars. Inscribed FUJEIRA and AIR MAIL; 2 RLS.

Series history

Fujeira issued six stamps and a 10 riyal airmail souvenir sheet on 24 July 1972 for the 65th anniversary of World Scouting, pairing a bird with a Scout scene. Each stamp is inscribed FUJEIRA. They were also issued in sheetlets of six, one of each value, and imperforate.

The 30 dirhams shows an ostrich (lettered L'AUTRUCHE) and a Scout starting a fire with a bow-drill. The 70 dirhams shows an emperor penguin (lettered MANCHOT IMPÉRIAL) and a Scout saluting. The 1 riyal shows a resplendent quetzal (the panel is lettered MACAREUX) and a Scout cooking over two pots. The 2 riyals airmail shows an Atlantic puffin (the panel is lettered QUETZAL) and Scouts with a signalling flag and binoculars. The 3 riyals airmail shows a scarlet macaw (lettered ARA ECARLATE) and a Scout bandaging another's forehead. The 4 riyals airmail shows a brown pelican (lettered PELICAN) and two Scouts washing a dog in a tub.

The souvenir sheet places two toco toucans beside a Scout blowing a bugle; an angelfish swims in the margin. Designer and printer are not established. Postal standing is unsettled.
