Series history
Niger overprinted two of its March 1973 Scout airmails in black at Niamey on 19 July 1973 for the 24th World Scout Conference in Nairobi. The overprint reads 24e Conférence Mondiale du Scoutisme NAIROBI 1973. Pierre Forget designed and engraved the underlying stamps; the French Stamp Printing Office printed them by recess, comb perforated 13.
The 100 f shows a kneeling Scout offering a bowl of water to a gazelle, signed FORGET. The 150 f shows two Scout profiles with a gazelle, a sunburst, a bird and a fish. Both remain inscribed REPUBLIQUE DU NIGER, POSTE AERIENNE, scoutisme and 1973.
