Series history
Suriname issued three semi-postal stamps in Paramaribo on 21 August 1974, inscribed 50 JAAR BOY SCOUTS VAN SURINAME and 1924-1974. Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd. designed and printed the set by offset lithography, comb perforated 14½ × 15, without watermark, in panes of 50. The stamps measure 25 × 39 mm. They were withdrawn from sale on 31 October 1974 and remained valid for postage until 31 August 1975.
The 10 cents + 5 cents shows a Scout in a campaign hat before an orange tent and stylized trees. The 15 cents + 8 cents is a diamond emblem for the 5th Caribbean Jamboree, a green fleur-de-lis on a globe lettered VOOR VOORUITGANG 1974. The 20 cents + 10 cents shows two Scouts beneath a radiant sun with a fleur-de-lis at the centre.
