Series history

Togo issued two airmail overprints and a souvenir sheet at Lomé on 7 November 1975 for the 14th World Scout Jamboree. The black surcharge reads 14ème JAMBOREE MONDIAL DES ECLAIREURS. It was applied to the 100-franc canoeing and 200-franc cooking airmails of 1973, and to their sheet, which remain inscribed 1ère CONFÉRENCE MONDIALE BOY SCOUTS EN AFRIQUE, POSTE AERIENNE and REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE, and are signed SHAMIR.

Gabriel Shamir and Maxim Shamir designed the underlying stamps. The Israel Government Printers lithographed them, comb perforated 14, 52 × 30 mm. The 1975 souvenir sheet measures about 107 × 97 mm, with a gold tent outline and a World Scout fleur-de-lis; the stamp frames are simulated.
