Series history
Taiwan issued two commemoratives at Taipei on 5 October 1978 for the fifth national Scout jamboree. Both values share one design. They are lettered 中國童子軍 and 第五次全國大露營紀念, with 中華民國郵票 and REPUBLIC OF CHINA on a red band.
A yellow plum blossom holds a green fleur-de-lis; a three-finger salute stands before stylized tents or hills, with a red flame at right.
Wang Li-tien designed the set. The China Engraving & Printing Works lithographed it, 28 × 34 mm, comb perforated 13½ × 13¾, in panes of 100. Five million two hundred thousand of the 2 dollars and one million eight hundred thousand of the 10 dollars were printed. Specimen overprints exist.
